Francis Osei-Gyan serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Herp Conservation Ghana. He holds a Master of Science degree in Development Policy and Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.
In his role, Francis oversees conservation research and guides the strategic direction of Herp Conservation Ghana’s programs. Passionate about preserving Ghana’s unique biodiversity, he has dedicated his career to protecting endangered species and habitats, particularly vulnerable amphibians.
Francis has strategic vision and grassroots expertise that shapes the organization’s conservation efforts including: protecting endangered amphibian species, leading community engagement initiatives, contributing to the development of local laws prohibiting the capture or killing of endangered frog species and to the establishment of Ghana’s first protected area for endangered frogs – the Onepone Endangered Species Refuge.
His ultimate mission is to inspire a globally aware and active citizenry committed to protecting the planet’s most threatened wildlife.
